Seven companies among Micron's current top 10 suppliers by Altsets importance in the July 30, 2026 Altsets snapshot, shown with the country represented by each supplier. Arrows run from supplier to Micron.

The country count is useful because it shows how quickly Micron's supplier list crosses borders. It is not, by itself, a measure of which country matters most.

ASML, Applied Materials, and Shin-Etsu Chemical have quantitative estimates in the figure. Air Liquide, Atlas Copco, Powertech Technology, and Simmtech appear as supplier relationships without visible metrics in this specific image.

What do the ASML, Applied Materials, and Shin-Etsu relationships show?

The three quantified relationships provide more information than a supplier list alone.

ASML supplies Micron

The ASML to Micron relationship is estimated at 7.64% of ASML revenue, 3B USD in relationship size, and 11.91% of Micron COGS. Among the three quantified relationships on this page, ASML has the largest displayed supplier-revenue percentage, relationship size, and Micron cost percentage.

The ASML relationship is especially useful for understanding why the same edge needs two percentage measures. The estimate suggests that Micron is meaningful to ASML from the supplier's revenue perspective, while ASML is also meaningful to Micron from the customer's cost perspective.

Applied Materials supplies Micron

The Applied Materials to Micron relationship is estimated at 2.96% of Applied Materials revenue, 990M USD in relationship size, and 3.84% of Micron COGS. The Applied Materials relationship is smaller than the ASML relationship on all three displayed measures, but it still represents nearly 1B USD in estimated relationship size.

Applied Materials sells a broad range of semiconductor manufacturing equipment. Its official product categories include deposition, etch, chemical mechanical polishing, ion implantation, thermal processing, inspection, and advanced packaging systems. The public product catalog explains the company's role in chip manufacturing, but it does not prove which particular tool or service underlies the mapped Micron relationship.

Shin-Etsu Chemical supplies Micron

The Shin-Etsu Chemical to Micron relationship is estimated at 1.83% of Shin-Etsu Chemical revenue, 366M USD in relationship size, and 1.34% of Micron COGS.

Shin-Etsu Chemical manufactures semiconductor silicon wafers and other electronics materials. Its silicon wafers are used as substrates for memory, logic, analog, and other semiconductor devices.

As with Applied Materials, the product description supplies industry context. The Altsets map establishes the estimated Shin-Etsu-to-Micron relationship. The public product page does not identify the exact Micron contract, facility, wafer type, or purchasing arrangement.

Three findings that a normal Micron supplier list misses

1. The three quantified relationships total 4.356B USD

The displayed relationship-size estimates are ASML to Micron: 3B USD, Applied Materials to Micron: 990M USD, and Shin-Etsu Chemical to Micron: 366M USD. Together, those three estimates equal 4.356B USD.

That total is not Micron's complete supplier spending. It is only the sum of the three relationship-size estimates displayed here. The remaining four companies in the image do not have visible relationship-size estimates, and three of Micron's top 10 suppliers are not included in this seven-company country view.

2. ASML stands out on both sides of the relationship

ASML's displayed 11.91% of Micron COGS is approximately: 3.1 times Applied Materials' displayed 3.84% and 8.9 times Shin-Etsu Chemical's displayed 1.34%. The same ordering appears on the supplier side: ASML: 7.64% of supplier revenue, Applied Materials: 2.96% of supplier revenue, and Shin-Etsu Chemical: 1.83% of supplier revenue.

This does not prove that ASML is harder to replace. It shows that the ASML relationship carries the largest economic estimates among the three quantified edges in this map.

3. Micron's suppliers cover different parts of chip production

The seven companies are not seven versions of the same supplier.

Air Liquide supplies high-purity gases and advanced semiconductor materials. Atlas Copco operates semiconductor vacuum and exhaust-abatement businesses. Powertech Technology provides memory packaging and testing services. Simmtech manufactures memory-module PCBs and semiconductor package substrates. ASML manufactures lithography systems. Applied Materials manufactures semiconductor process equipment. Shin-Etsu Chemical supplies silicon wafers and other semiconductor materials. The seven-country result therefore also spans several stages of memory-chip production, from wafer materials and factory equipment to packaging, testing, and module components.

The company-role descriptions explain why each supplier is relevant to semiconductor production. They should not be read as proof of the exact item each company sells to Micron.

What does country exposure mean in this article?

Country exposure here means that a company associated with a country appears as a supplier in the displayed Micron network. It does not mean that every product is manufactured in the supplier's home country, the supplier operates only in that country, Micron receives equal value from every country, every relationship is equally hard to replace, and the seven countries represent Micron's complete global supply chain.

Air Liquide, Atlas Copco, Powertech Technology, Simmtech, ASML, Applied Materials, and Shin-Etsu Chemical all operate across more than one location. The flags identify the country represented by each company in this analysis. They do not trace every factory, subsidiary, shipping route, or production site involved in the relationship. A separate geographic analysis based on operating facilities would answer a different question.

Data, interpretation, and what remains unknown

Data shown directly

The map directly shows seven supplier-to-Micron relationships, seven represented countries, company identifiers, and quantitative estimates for ASML, Applied Materials, and Shin-Etsu Chemical. The complete figures are reproduced in the supplier table above.

Interpretation

The seven suppliers show that Micron's important upstream relationships cross several countries and several stages of semiconductor production.

The three quantified relationships also show that supplier importance cannot be reduced to a company count. ASML, Applied Materials, and Shin-Etsu Chemical each connect to Micron, but their displayed financial estimates differ materially.

What is not proven

This analysis does not prove the exact product sold under each relationship, current contract terms, purchase volumes reported by Micron, supplier exclusivity, available substitutes, switching time, factory-level exposure, and the market effect of a supplier disruption. Those questions require additional company, product, facility, and contract research.

Scope and limitations

This page covers seven companies among Micron's current top 10 suppliers by Altsets importance. It is not a complete Micron supplier list.

Three top-10 companies are not included in this country graphic. The article should therefore not be interpreted as showing all 10 suppliers or all countries represented by the full top 10.

The relationship values and percentages are estimated Altsets research outputs. They are not audited supplier invoices, Micron procurement disclosures, or contract values.

Missing metrics remain unknown. The absence of a visible percentage beside Air Liquide, Atlas Copco, Powertech Technology, or Simmtech should not be interpreted as zero.

Country labels refer to the company represented in the map. They do not provide a complete view of where each supplier manufactures its products or performs its services. For details on relationship direction, metric definitions, entity matching, missing values, and point-in-time treatment, read the Altsets supply-chain data methodology.
